As a hook for our new text, The Jolly Postman, we went on an immersive willy walk to get ot know our story a little better.

The children had to help the Jolly Postman to deliver his letters to the characters in the story. After following a path into the 'forbidden forest', the children worked in small groups to find the front door of different character's houses. They were left a letter from each character, which involved the children carrying out some sort of task, from acting like Goldilocks in the story of the three bears, to growling as loudly as possible at the door of Grandma's cottage in the hope that the Big Bad Wolf would spit her out!

It was great fun for all, adults included!
