Trip to the Field
Exploring the woods!
Darwin Class had a great morning at the woods today, enjoying the Autumn sunshine and carrying out a number of different activities. Firstly, we searched the woods for signs of Autumn to add to our Seasons Scrapbook which we are putting together over the year, in science. The children searched for signs that Autumn was here and enjoyed collecting a huge variety of things such as leaves, conkers, acorns and bark. We then sketched some of the features of our woods and took bark and leaf rubbings. We will use our findings to help us compare our woods to the other woods around the world that we have been looking at. Finally, we took the chance to hang up some 'Missing' posters for Grateley Bear. Our class mascot has been missing for a few weeks now and in our English lessons we have written posters to try to find him. Fingers crossed he turns up soon!
