Learning at Grateley Primary School
At Grateley Primary School, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, achieve and develop a lifelong love of learning. We are committed to providing an ambitious, inclusive and engaging education that enables every child to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to build knowledge, develop skills and inspire curiosity. Through high-quality teaching, purposeful learning experiences and a broad range of opportunities, we encourage children to ask questions, think critically, solve problems and make meaningful connections in their learning. We build on what children already know, ensuring that learning is carefully sequenced so that knowledge and skills develop progressively over time. There is time for the children to practise the skills they have been taught over time.
We recognise that every child is unique. We celebrate individual strengths, nurture talents and provide the support and challenge children need to succeed. We are committed to inclusion, ensuring that all pupils feel valued, supported and able to participate fully in school life.
At the heart of learning at Grateley are our 3Bs: Be Safe, Be Ready and Be Respectful. These expectations help our children develop positive learning behaviours, take responsibility for their actions and contribute to a caring and supportive school community.
We encourage our pupils to become independent, resilient and reflective learners who are willing to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes and celebrate their achievements. We encourage the children to go into the, ‘Learning Pit’ where they will be challenged in their learning and they will achieve that learning over time.
Through strong partnerships between children, staff, families and the wider community, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels they belong and where every achievement matters.
At Grateley Primary School, we want every child to leave us with the knowledge, skills, confidence and curiosity to embrace the opportunities ahead and a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.
